_*Bashir Lashkari laid to rest amid pro-freedom slogans, thousands offer funeral prayers*_

_Thousands of people on Sunday participated in the funeral prayers of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Bashir Lashkari at his ancestral Soaf-shali village of Kokernag in south Kashmir._

_The mourners were shouting slogans in favour of Kashmir’s freedom as the body of Lashkari - killed in a gunfight along with an aide Abu Maz yesterday in Dialgam village - was being carried towards the graveyard._

_Lashkari, who carried a reward of ten lakh rupees, was blamed for the killing of SHO Feroz and five policemen in an attack in Thajiwara area of the district._

_Funeral prayers were offered for him last night as well. At least five militants appeared in the funeral and offered a gun salute to him._
