DODA POLICE ORGANIZED DEBATE  “DRUG ABUSE”

DODA, APR 08-- Doda Police  organized a debate competition on the topic “DRUG ABUSE” at Govt. Hr. Sec. School (Boys) Doda under Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2016-17. Deputy Commissioner, Doda Sh. Bhupinder Kumar, IAS, who was the chief guest on the occasion, while SSP Doda Shri. Mohammad Shabir, Addl. SP Hqrs Doda Shri. Vinay Kumar, Dy. SP DAR DPL Doda Shri. Nazir Ahmed Ganai and other officers of Police and Civil administration, faculty members of the College/ Schools, large number of students of Different College/Schools of Doda and media fraternity were present on the occasion. 14students spoke on the topic and highlighted the various abuses of drugs in the society. Miss Nazish Wani Student of BA Semester 4th of Govt. Degree College Doda secured Ist position and was given rupees 1500/- cash reward/ Medal and certificate of participation. 2nd position was secured by Mr. Hershit Ranastudent of 11th class of Govt. Hr. Sec. School (Boys) Doda and was awarded with rupees 1000/- cash reward/ Medal and certificate of participation, while 3rd position was secured by Miss Aqssa Beiqstudent of 12th class of Govt. Hr. Sec. School (Girls) Doda who was awarded with rupees 500/- cash reward/ Medal and certificate of participation. All other participants were also awarded with cash rewards and certificates of participation.  The youth and locals of the area appreciated the role of J&K Police in organizing such debate competition which will go a long way to protect the society especially youth from the evils of drug addiction. Drug free society is one of the objectives outlined by DGP J&K for the year 2017. In furtherance to the said objective District Police Doda has steppedup its efforts to detect drugs peddlers and take strict action against them by organizing such debate competition for the drug free society is also one of its objective.Deputy Commissioner, Doda Shri. Bhupinder Kumar, IAS, (Chief Guest) while speaking on the occasion, appealed the youth to refrain from drug menace, which has eaten the vitals of the society. He appreciated the role of Police for organizing such activities under CAP. This will also help in bettering the relations between Police and Public. SSP Doda, Shri. Mohammed Shabir thanked the participants and audience for witnessing such a wonderful programme. He apprised the general public and media about the activities of J&K Police being performed under CAP. He exhorted upon the youth community to shun the path of drug menace and put their best efforts in doing good things for the society.  He assured the participants that such type of programmes would continue in future also. Shri. Vinay Kumar, ASP Hqrs. Doda nodal officer for District Level Debate Competition also spoke on the occasion and shed light on evil affects of Drug addiction.
